Veterinary Acupuncture
Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese approach to mapping points based on spiritual energy. Modern science shows us that acupuncture works through signals sent throughout the nervous system. When needles are inserted into one of these sites, the body responds in predictable ways to lessen pain, relax muscles, improve digestion and dissipate stress.
Dr. Rita McKay became qualified in Veterinary Acupuncture in 2008. As one of the first veterinarians in Winnipeg to to be certified by the IVAS, she now boasts over 10 years of experience in acupuncture. Many of our patients have received benefits from this approach to medicine in treating such varied conditions as osteoarthritis, disc disease, vestibular disease, facial paralysis, gastrointestinal problems, kidney, and urinary tract disease, some skin conditions, seizures, and more. |
